2025 Rate Updates
2024 is coming to a close and we are preparing for 2025 with annual goals, projects and rate changes. Water and sewer rates will change slightly for 2025 and we’d like to provide a regional comparison with other systems with similarities to RVSD. This regional rate study is conducted each year by AE2S engineers.
Water rate monthly minimum charges for residential customers will have a $.63 per month increase in 2025. Commercial water users will see a rate increase of 3% on the minimum charge based on their size of meter. Water rates per 1,000 gallons of use for residential customers will increase $.23 per 1,000 gallons. Commercial water users will see at 5% increase on the per 1,000 gallon charge. Commercial irrigation users will see a rate increase to $7.96 per 1,000 gallons. Commercial irrigation during the summer months puts a large demand on the system, and during a recent Cost of Analysis study conducted by RVSD it was determined that RVSD is currently under charging those high demand irrigation customers as compared to other systems.
Sewer rate monthly minimum charges for residential customers will have a $.50 increase in 2025. Commercial sewer customers will see a rate increase of 2% to the monthly minimum charge based on the size of their meter. Sewer rates per 1,000 gallons of water use for residential customers will increase by $.18 per 1,000 gallons of water use. Residential sewer customers monthly rate will still be determined by their 3-month winter average of water use. To see how the sewer averaging is determined, please visit our FAQ tab. Commercial sewer customers will see a rate increase of 3% increase on the per 1,000 gallons based on their meter size.
In addition to competitive rates RVSD offers both water and sewer service line repairs at no cost to our customers, which is unique to RVSD! For more information on service line repairs please view our ordinances under the reports tab or contact our office.
The graphs below provide a regional comparison to similar systems for both water and wastewater. New rates will take effect January 1, 2025
